Daily fast boat services offer “door to door” transfers from your hotel, or the airport, in Bali to the beautiful beach harbor on Gili Trawangan. The service includes pick-up from your hotel in Bali, shuttle bus to the boat harbor in Benoa or Padangai and the boat crossing itself. The crossing from Bali to Lombok takes from 1.5 – 3 hours depending on the boat.

If you prefer to fly, there are on average, five daily flights from Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport to the new International Airport on Lombok. It is an easy flight of 40 minutes. From the airport you can take a 2 hour taxi ride to Teluk Nare, the speedboat harbor for the Gili Islands. From there, a speedboat will bring you to Gili Trawangan in 10 minutes.
Travel From Lombok to Gili Trawangan
For the budget conscious traveller you can also come to Gili Trawangan by ferry and local public transport. From Bali the public ferry leaves from the small picturesque harbour town of Padang Bai and arrives in Lombok in the port of Lembar. From Lembar it is around two hours by taxi, or longer by Bemo (local stopping minibus service), to Bangsal harbour. At Bangsal you get the public boat to Gili Trawangan, a journey of about thirty minutes. The total journey time can be from eight to ten hours, so take a good book!
